Small Victories

I got two words for you today…  Small Victories.

When I saw these words tattooed on a stranger’s left arm, it suddenly invoked some thoughts and emotions.  I became joyous and thankful.

It made me realize that I have actually been achieving countless small victories.  And though I often brush these aside and do not think about it, seeing the man’s tattoo made me contemplate how lucky and blessed I have been.  That I should appreciate and take into account these tiny accomplishments in life.

celebrate your small victories peeps!

Learning how to cook, freeing oneself from zits, waking up relaxed, sending a civil message to your ex, making someone smile and staying afloat when everybody seemed to have drowned are some of the small victories each one of us has to acknowledge and be joyous about.

Stay alive, be happy and keep achieving those Small Victories!

Ditumabo Falls After The Rain

Mountain trekkers know that waterfalls are at their scenic best when there has been rainfall.  That is absolutely what I saw and experienced in Aurora Province on the day I conquered the exhilarating green forest of barrio San Luis which nestles the beautiful Ditumabo Falls.

wow!

wow!

The first gait I made to accomplish this adventure, I simply let my cares drop like fallen trees.  I did not expect anything to gain with this specific venture.  I was merely trying to endure what needs to be endured during the whole time I was walking up the mountain.  Nevertheless, while pacing my initial strides, I was already feeling the freshness of the air kissing my cheeks, similar to how the cool streams of water kiss the thirsty lips of earth.

But as I further my trekking, I eventually felt the flowing of nature’s peace inside my being just like how sunshine flows into the leaves and branches of a tree. And as I further went up the trail, I was feeling the fresh energy of the whole forest.  I felt no pain, I felt no fatigue.  It was sheer delight and pleasantness.

And when we reached our destination, the sight of the dream-like forest mist, the look of the inviting jade-colored pool and the magnificent appearance of the robust stream of the waterfall, resulted to a total feeling of intense joy and happiness!

Ditumabo Falls after the rain is indeed magical!

Out My Window This Morning Was The Bow Of God

A lot of folks – me included – get so excited seeing a rainbow in the sky.  I know that rainbow is just but a wonderful result of a climate condition and has nothing to do with luck.  But rainbows don’t appear often that is why seeing it invokes joyful hope and optimistic promise.

This is what I exactly felt when I woke up this morning, rose from my bed, looked out my window and saw this brilliant display of colors in the sky.

I would like to believe that seeing it is a sign from the cosmic universe that something wonderful – may it be divine providence or good fortune – is ahead.  For me, seeing a rainbow has always been a delightful, ethereal and inspiring experience.
